17 Suffolk and North East Essex ICS | ‘Our Journey Together’ Bringing partners together at county, place and neighbourhood Working at place level through the Alliances brought people together to focus on the specific issues for local populations. This enabled solutions to be tailored to the different needs and unique opportunities in different areas. Neighbourhood approaches, in particular the development of Integrated Neighbourhood Teams, created services that are more responsive to more hyper-local needs and challenges. Health and care partners are still on this journey. Neighbourhood working is now a key part of the new NHS 10 Year Plan, and new ways of working together at place and system will evolve from the changes now underway in NHS Integrated Care Board footprints and Local Government Reform. Making co-production and co-delivery with people and communities a consistent reality remains a challenge. Collaborations with industry partners and community anchors also offer further opportunities for innovation going forward. Bringing partners together for inter-professional learning Suffolk and North East Essex has supported professionals to come together in new forums. Professional groups in sectors such as allied health have come together to learn from their diverse experiences in different sectors and areas. The system-wide Integrated Care Academy was a collaboration between the local authority, Integrated Care Board, higher education, and VCFSE sector. Using expertise from the health, social care, academic, and community sectors it delivered professional and leadership courses, built research capacity, strengthened the evidence base, and fostered collaborative problem solving for integrated care. Further examples of local case studies relevant to this action area include: Neighbourhood level: Woodbridge Holistic Assessment Team (W.H.A.T.) brings together a one-stop shop of professionals providing early intervention to reduce the risk of falls. CAN DO Health & Care - Awards 2025 System and professional level: The Integrated Care Academy played a pivotal role in advancing integrated, person-centred care across SNEE ICS. Impact report 2025 - Integrated Care Academy Alliance level: The Health Index score for Tendring improved across all three domains between 2015 and 2021 reflecting successful focus as an Alliance. Tendring Health & Wellbeing Strategy County level: Pooling of resources and expertise to use a partnership in improving community health. CAN DO Health & Care - Awards 2025 Neighbourhood level: Community Voluntary Services Tendring working with Active Essex to increase the physical activity levels of residents in the Harwich and Dovercourt areas. Beat the Street Primary Care Network: Deben Health Group PCN, Care Coordinators providing wraparound support addressing medical, social, and practical needs. CAN DO Health & Care - Awards 2025 Professional Level: SNEE ICS AHP faculty provided the infrastructure to develop and deliver projects and initiatives that reduce duplication between organisations.
