Covid 19 – HOW DO WE HEAL?

How do we heal?

As the significant recent pressures of Covid19 begin to subside and our Covid19 vaccination programme continues, we are beginning to think about how we will move forward again into the future as a health and care system. We know that this will involve detailed recovery planning for our NHS and social care services, for local government and wider public services and for our voluntary and community sector organisations. We also know that in every sector we take forward with us significant learning from the pandemic and changes to the way we work as individuals, organisations and systems.

We know that Covid19 has affected each of the one million people living in Suffolk and North East Essex in very different ways. So for us all to move forward we need more than just a plan – we need to think about how each of us feel and how we can build on our experiences of the past year. We all need to think about ‘How do we heal?’

How do we heal our NHS services? How do we heal our communities? How do we heal our social care sector? How do we heal our VCSE sector? How do we heal our health and care workforce? How do we heal ourselves? Also, recognising the many inequalities in our communities: How do we help EVERYONE to heal?

Building on our work on system learning from summer 2020, we are inviting everyone in Suffolk and North East Essex share their thinking around this important question: How do we heal?

You can share your thinking in this area in a variety of ways including:

  • send an email direct to HERE or enter your response online HERE
  • participate in one or more one-hour community conversations each exploring the question from a different perspective – details to follow HERE
  • participate in our campaign around the essential question relating to health equality: How do we help EVERYONE to heal? HERE
