Help us to ‘Walk the Talk’ – Film Competition

Inspire us with a two-minute film…

In Suffolk and North East Essex we want to be a truly ‘Can Do Health and Care’ system. We have six core values, our 6 Cs below, and we want to make sure local people can see these values in practice. You can help us to understand how to ‘Walk the Talk’ by sharing your experiences of local health and care.

We are committed to all parts of our health and care system working together to improve the health of our population. Can YOU help us understand how to ‘Walk the Talk’ by sharing your experiences or ideas of local social care and health through a short film, of up to 2 minutes?

We are looking for originality, creativity and powerful messaging about the realities of health and care in our local communities in Suffolk and North East Essex. We welcome films made in collaboration, especially to give an opportunity to those who have no film experience but a strong message.

Your film can be made using any means including use of a smartphone. You can film simply straight to camera or you could include a more ‘produced’ approach perhaps using film editing. For examples, watch videos from our 2021 film competition.

Leading the competition is our ICS Equalities Lead, David Akinsanya who has worked in broadcasting for 25 years and presented on television for the BBC and Channel 4.

We want to hear diverse voices representing the local population and welcome entries from community organisations, individuals and families who live or work in Suffolk or North East Essex. We are particularly keen to ensure people with disabilities have equality of opportunity to enter our competition. If you might need additional support or need information in an alternative format, please contact David Akinsanya directly on 07514 622152 or by email at David.akinsanya1@nhs.net.

Entries must be received by Wednesday 15 June 2022.

Entries will be judged by an independent panel, who will award six prizes of £300, plus an overall wining prize of £500. Winning entries will be shown at our EXPO event in Newmarket on 1 July 2022.

Leading the competition and chairing the panel of judges is our ICS Equalities Lead, David Akinsanya who has worked in broadcasting for 25 years and presented on television for the BBC and Channel 4.
